On the southern border of Kensington, JJ Hollands Park occupies an area of more than 10 hectares along Kensington Road and Altona Street. Formerly known as Seagull Swamp, the park is named after John Joseph Holland, Member for Flemington for over 30 years from 1925.

Besides a variety of community facilities, JJ Holland Park offers sports fields, a basketball court, BMX and skateboarding areas, off-leash areas for dogs, picnic facilities and barbecue areas. There is also the Bill Vanina Sports Pavillion.
The Venny

Currently, under redevelopment, the Kensington Community Aquatic and Recreation Centre located within JJ Holland Park has served the Kensington community since 1976. With an exciting upgrade underway, the redeveloped Kensington Community Aquatic and Recreation Centre will meet the needs of Kensington's diverse community while remaining affordable and accessible for all.

Facilities will include: a 25-metre pool featuring eight lanes, gym facilities, children's water play, three full-sized multipurpose courts, health and wellness areas, three large flexible spaces suitable for a range of classes and community uses, accessible change rooms, including an adult accessible change facility funded by the Victorian Government, and a new cafe.
